Meet our Coaches
Karen Williams, Head Coach – Karen has been coaching since 2002. She has been a member of the Team Toba coaching staff at both the Canada Summer Games and the Western Canada Summer Games. She has developed swimmers to the Senior National level including team Canada Pan American games and the 2015 British para-swimming championships. Well respected in the swim community, Karen brings a wealth of knowledge to our team believing that everyone should be encouraged to reach their potential.
Meaghan McMullen, Assistant Coach - Meaghan was a competitive swimmer for 16 years, swimming throughout her university career. She has completed numerous National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) courses. Meaghan has also completed her Fundamentals Coach (Level 1) through the Coaching Association of Canada. Meaghan has been coaching swimming since 2010. Her experience entails generic swimming, Special Olympics and she is now entering her third season with Para Storm.
Kate Robertson, Assistant Coach - Kate was a competitive swimmer for over 16 years. Throughout her career she has gone to numerous provincial and national competitions representing Para Storm and Manitoba. She is currently working to complete her coaching certification. She is excited to give back to the organization that has given her so much over the years.
Robyn Sliva, Assistant Coach - Robyn swam on the Para Storm Swim Club for 10 years from 2010 to 2019. In her time as a competitive swimmer she participated in many events including multiple CAN-AM Games, The Canada Summer Games, and The Canadian and American Paralympic Trials. She is now an assistant coach for the recreational and pre-competitive team, where she has experience coaching para athletes both one-on-one and in groups. She. attributes a lot of her successes as a student, employee, and as a person to the experiences she had as a para athlete, and she believe that everyone should have the opportunity to participate and succeed in sport no matter their ability.
